5th January | Louisiana
As far as sibling musical duos go, we’ve seen great things – whether it be The Knife, with their experimental electronica, or homespun indie folk tales from First Aid Kit. Although they aren’t a two-piece, sibling-fronted Bristol band, Why We Love serve as a worthy addition to the list, through Joe Wellfair’s lead vocals and sister Rachel’s harmonies. They may have supported Wolf Alice, Teleman and Slow Club, but frankly, they suit being at the top of the bill.
Ushering in 2018 with style, the band will play The Louisiana on 5th January. Expect rousing choruses from their debut single ‘Patina’, as well as ‘Lucky One,’ ‘Staying Awake’ and ‘The Boy You Knew’ from the 2016 EP of that name. Special guests, Zepher and Glenn Chilli offer significantly more to the picture, so don’t turn up late and miss them. Most importantly, make sure you brighten up the early days of January with the first performance of the year from this upbeat alt-pop four-piece.
