The Adenuga brothers show their pioneering hold over the scene once again with this modern grime classic ‘That’s Not Me’. In all its awesomeness this is one of the standout beats of the year.
This campaign brims of heritage in every element. The instrumental and supporting visuals, the vintage basslines kicks and snares, an old-school flow on a thirty-two bar verse structure. The track produced by Skepta himself seems to be on a mission to remind the original fans why he is the self-proclaimed “King of Grime”.
All this seems to be multiplied when watching the video that hails the pirate radio era. As the pair rap into headphones and perform the track in front of a collage of rare pre-1080p footage described perfectly by JME as “a nostalgic back drop”.
You can also catch Boy Better Know’s very own as Tropical and Body Nod host the main room at Bristol’s super venue Motion on November 22nd for what’s shaping up to be an exhibition of grime grand masters, including Skepta and JME, Big Narstie, Plastician, Logan Sama and more. Plus supporting rooms hosted by Riddem Cottage and Autheniq featuring the likes of NYTA, Mak & Pasteman, Murlo and Grim Sickers.
That’s Not Me is available now via all online distributers, catch the video here:
