Revered music platform Saffron Records have announced the artists they have chosen for their Artist Development initiative for 2018/19.

The project, which sees the label work with three different artists each year of a variety of genres and backgrounds, will this time work with Mercy’s Cartel, Ngaio and Beula.

In an an announcement on Facebook, the platform stated “We are so excited to work with such unique and individual artists, on such diverse projects with sounds ranging from RnB, Afrobeat to Electronic Jazz, to Nigerian Bass!!”

Singer, songwriter and producer Mercy Sotire, otherwise known as Mercy’s Cartel, released her first extended play ‘Vibes Cartel’ this year to rave reviews, while DJ and vocalist Ngaio’s modern approach to jazz, soul and hip-hop is proving progressively fruitful in the club communities around the UK.

Saffron have stated that the artists will be mentored by industry professionals, and will release an EP through Saffron’s own label. They will be supported not only by the platform, but PRS for Music and Red Bull Music also.
