15th November | The Louisiana
An artist who continues to break moulds while blossoming into a world of his own; there’s no question that Bristol multi-instrumentalist Oliver Wilde and his musical talent are unparalleled to many in the scene right now.
Wilde surprised everyone earlier this year with new EP Long Hold Star An Infinite Abduction – following acclaimed albums A Brief Introduction To Unnatural Lightyears and Red Tide Opal In The Loose End Womb. The EP took a step away from his original bedroom pop sequences and into unmarked territory that was potent, mysterious and refreshing.
More so on his change of sound for single ‘Good Kind Of Froze’, Oliver said it is “a sort of purse-lipped self analysis, a kind of brand-new manic conflict between my fragile bedroom downer-pop I’m comfortable with, and a new disconnected musical skin I’m still getting used to.”
One thing is for certain, and that is the transition will be just as beautiful and mind blowing as ever. So what better way to experience Wilde’s atmospheric intensity than his first headline show in two years at The Louisiana this month. With support from fellow hometown artist /please/, the show promises to be a special night to remember.
