Issue #87 | April 2019

Read the April issue with Loyle Carner, Martha, Girl Unit and more.

Last month saw a slew of festival announcements for our corner of the UK, with cups that ranneth over with artists we’re passionate about. One such artist, Loyle Carner, graces our cover this month, as he prepares to drop Not Waving, But Drowning. He talks about what’s changed between the crafting of his debut and sophomore efforts.

Elsewhere, we chat to Northern punks, Martha (Exchange, 26th) about life in post-Brexit Britain, as they share the serious (fuck UKIP) and not-so-serious (wrestling) themes on their latest release. We also hear from Girl Unit, who returns for the first time in seven years with a battery of features in tow. He used the time away to wipe the sonic slate clean and the results are stunning.

All this, plus April’s best releases (inc. Dave’s long awaited debut), our events guide, full live listings, guests and more! Go get some.

Stay tuned for next month, when we take a closer look at festival season 2019.
