Purveyors of some of Bristol’s finest parties for almost a decade, Dirtytalk are set to open a new music and arts venue, Strange Brew, in Bristol’s city centre.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen the closure of integral venues such as The Brunswick Club, The Surrey Vaults, and many more. In an increasingly difficult climate for live venues to survive, it’s undeniably crucial to support live music spaces. The success of Exchange’s campaign to save the venue through community-ownership proves that in spite of mounting difficulties faced, there is still hope to counter threats posed to vital cultural hubs, particularly through collectivised effort.

Since launching the Crowdfunder campaign last week, Strange Brew has got off to a promising start. With the expertise of the Dirtytalk crew, and their plans to offer a multi-disciplinary art and music space with a late-night bar, record shop and café, Strange Brew will undeniably provide a much-needed creative epicentre in a perfect central location.
