A piece of Bristol music history is being given a special 25th anniversary re-release. The Hard Sell was originally released in 1991 and was the original Bristol Sound compilation.

It featured the early works many of the artists that went on to define not just Bristol’s sound over the next few years, but music all over the world. The compilation includes tracks by Jeremy Allom, Jim Barr (Get the Blessing & Portishead), Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Neil Davidge , Si John (Roni Size & Reprazent), Daniel Kausman (DJ Die), Julie Lockhart, Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty, Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), Kelvin Swaby (The Heavy) and Tricky, Nick Warren & Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West). On top of all this, it includes work by Andy Watkins and Paul Wilson who wrote and produced the first two Spice Girls albums.

The original release was put out in support of O.S.C.A.R and Airspace charities, and the release is following suit, with all proceeds going towards O.S.C.A.R and The Southmead Project.
