Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you. The Exchange are to host a clubnight that only plays what is irreputably the whole world’s favourite song, ‘Africa’ by Toto.
Organised by Prime Cuts Record Store owner, DJ and now local hero Michael Savage after drunkenly conjuring up the idea as a joke, the night will raise money for an African charity.
Temwa, a Bristol-based charity, aids people living in rural areas of northern Malawi.
‘Africa’, released in 1982, was the biggest hit for the US band. The objectively timeless classic enjoying a surge in popularity in recent years that has led to many a cover or two, which you’ll also be able to hear across the night in The Exchange’s side rooms.
The night will take over The Exchange on the 30th November, and there is nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do to stop us being there.
