I first came across the energetic foursome that is Sundara Karma earlier this year when they supported Two Door Cinema Club. Having never heard the name before I was already interested in its meaning and even more interested in their sound so as they exploded onto stage in a eruption of upbeat, indie pop, I was already half convinced they were the main event, only I didn’t recognise any of their songs.

In July 2017, Sundara Karma released their debut album, Youth Is Only Fun in Retrospect having already gained a lot of momentum from singles ‘Flame’ and ‘Olympia’. The band whose name comes from the Sanskrit for “beautiful karma” are no strangers to the stage having first played Reading Festival in 2013. They have since supported the likes of Wolf Alice and Swim Deep and in May headlined Dot to Dot Festival.

It’s been an exciting year for them and as they get ready to embark on their debut headline tour, I can only imagine that their strength as a band will increase with every show. You can catch Sundara Karma at the O2 Academy on September 28th.
