Rise treated us to an absolute host of brilliant in-stores last year, from artists who went on to appear on some of the biggest stages around the world, to off-the-beaten-track delights. After a hectic month in the run up to Christmas, the store once again has lined up some tempting events in the coming months. Here’s a swift run-down of those who’ll be gracing the stage of Friska for us.

Mystery Jets, January 18th, 3PM.

This is a free entry show, although get down slightly earlier than stage time as it will be busy. Mystery Jets will be coming to perform a stripped back set in support of their new album ‘Curve Of The Earth’.

Coasts, January 25th, 6PM.

Pre-order the album online or in-store and receive two wristbands that guarantee entry to this show. Bristol’s very own success story will return for an intimate performance. They will be playing in support of their debut full length which is released the same week.

Younghusband, January 27th, 6PM.

This is a free entry show, although get down slightly earlier than stage time as it will be busy. Under a canopy of reverb and phase, this quartet can be heard hunting for escape routes from the played-out circus of British rock. No easy task in a country so cold, expensive and hostile to change.

Field Music, February 8th, 7PM.

Order the new album to guarantee a ticket to this intimate live show. Over the past four years, North-East siblings Peter and David Brewis have threaded their way through one extra-curricular project after another but were inevitably drawn back to working together on their own songs.
