8th November | Exchange

When the group formerly known as Viet Cong emerged from a self-imposed darkness with a new name, new record but the same forthright and demanding punk that they’ve created since their first self-titled record, it was safe to say that whatever the group crafted was going to be something of value.

‘Preoccupations’ turned out to be just that. An anxious, intense listen – Matt Flegel, Mike Wallace, Scott Munro and Daniel Christiansen grew even further with this record, crafting a consistently imbalanced yet rewarding sound. Live they are a caustic, engaging outfit – channeling their vigorous post-punk with feverishness that is excitingly absorbing.

Within the industrial atmospherics of the Exchange, and being supported by fellow tense contemporaries Cold Pumas and Scarlet Rascal – Preoccupations will provide a highly rewarding performance for those aware and unknowing alike.
