Having spent four years gradually building up a head of steam, with an increasingly engaging live show and more and more considered, invigorating singles, it’s finally time for Our Girl to take the step into new territory. With the release of their first album, Stranger Today, the trio from London can move into headline billing and cement their place, determining themselves as one of the more distinctive guitar bands, thanks to their compelling balance of forceful energy and tender foundations. To celebrate its release, an intimate show and signing at Rough Trade Bristol beckons, rewarding us with the chance to catch the band before their big headline show at The Louisiana in October.

What makes Our Girl so appealing live is the way they are able to channel their personal and emotional insights through their togetherness onstage. Having supported Pale Waves and Marika Hackman in the last year, their constantly positive and communicable energy translates into their music, and it allows them to freely express their personalities, subtly but engrossingly, to their audience. Soph Nathan, Josh Tyler and Lauren Wilson are a really understated band, but their connection as a group allows them to craft songs that are intense at the same time.
