Drenge ‘Undertow’ | Album Review

Drenge-Undertow-art

Half-measures don’t really exist for Drenge. Their all-out debut album was a depth charge for the world of guitars, making everyone else look like school bands bashing out dodgy Nirvana covers for the first time. It was huge, dirty and had more than enough lyrical genius too.

Now, the Northerners show second album pressures the way to the door with follow up ‘Undertow’ — and alright, it’s not raging, so much as calculated this time. ‘Into The Woods’ in particular sees the brotherly duo step up their game as Eoin croons about a VHS over emotive guitars. Yep, they’ve done it again.
