Courtney Love — known ironically as “Americas sweetheart” — is back to kick us out of the water with her nine-date tour across the UK, commencing in May.
Being her first proper tour since 2010, it’s predicted that she will be showcasing work from her soon-to-be-released second solo LP entitled ‘Died Blonde’, which has been rumoured to echo her earlier works with alt-rock via grunge group Hole – undoubtedly her claim to critical success as a musician.
Love has a voice of raw sustain and dynamic power (despite her twenty cigs a day), hence her music even being recently compared to the later works of Bob Dylan. Think Patti smith or The Pretenders with ten times the attitude (yes, that’s possible) and a swift kick in the shin.
With a particular shout out to the Hole fans out there, catch her Bristol date on the 19th May – Sir Kurt Cobain once saw the appeal in her, you will too.
