The team at Café Kino launch a series of ‘Basement Sessions’ this month, their first – and long awaited – foray into curating their own shows.
It’s all in aid of raising vital funds for the much-loved hub for creativity, counter-culture and, (let’s be honest) burgers. “With the Carriage Works redevelopment next door, we’re anticipating there may be a negative impact on the café,” explains Will from Kino’s events team. “So the bands we have asked for these shows have kindly agreed to play for free in support of us.”
The first wave of shows to be announced includes Pup Tent, Timmy Woahnows, ¡AY, CARMELA! and Bridget Hart on 11th July, plus the Tara Clerkin Band, Vinegar and M.Callingham on the 12th.
