Best known for her role as one of the two lead singers with Brighton-based dub/roots band Resonators, Kassia Zermon – aka Bunty – has helped to inject powerful vocals, a playful on-stage persona and a much-needed female presence into the male-dominated reggae scene over the last few years.
That could be seen as a high enough achievement in itself. But she has also worked extensively as a solo artist, touring festivals and clubs all over the UK armed with a loop machine and exploring the wackier reaches of her imagination through multi-layered improvisations conjured from her own looped vocals, beatboxing and a suitcase full of instruments.
This spring she takes her album Multimos on the road. A genre-bending mix of live music, performance art and audio-visual spectacle, you can expect day-glo make-up, psychedelic costumes, and the suspension of everyday reality at the Trinity Centre on 10th April.
