Indie-electropop duo Bella Loka – originally from Bristol but now based in Camden Town – exist in the same vacuum of bands that make up the soundtrack in your local H&M. Equal parts Metric, School of Seven Bells and Charli XCX, the pair’s music is hardly groundbreaking, but their blissful synth lines, oblique lyrical fruit and polished production values will appeal to a wide variety of musos and pop culturalists alike.

Their Escape EP is a kinetic, effervescent collection of pop songs for the indie generation; one that doesn’t quite establish a solid identity amid the flock but doesn’t look unfitting either.
