23rd August | Rough Trade

Bad Sounds have been killing it this year, performing a sea of festivals across Europe, consecutively releasing a string of high-quality tunes, and becoming bezzie mates with Annie Mac. Did I mention their debut album is released this Friday? This is my most-anticipated album of the year. To celebrate the release of Get Better, the buoyant five-piece will be performing an intimate, not-to-be-missed, hip-pop-driven set at Rough Trade. Bad Sounds will be unleashing fresh material from their colourful debut and hopefully spoiling us with one or two old-school classics.

I had the pleasure of reviewing the album before the release date and all I can say is that you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Expect psych-pop synth hurricanes, headbanging hooks and playful lyricism. If you’ve never been to a Bad Sounds gig before, it’s nothing shy of a party. This intimate in-store session will be a wild one. Bear in mind that there was a stage invasion when they performed in Bath last year.

If you miss out on this show, then fear not – Bad Sounds are doing a headline show at SWX in October. In the meantime, listen to ‘Milk It’ on repeat.
