Farmfest has revealed the first names on the line up for its summer shindig, with Squarepusher’s Shobaleader One and Tony Allen taking headline slots. The 12th iteration of the festival will take place 28-29th July at Gilcombe Farm, Somerset.

Shobaleader One, for those unacquainted, is Tom Jenkinson aka Squarepusher’s latest project. He promises to transform his latest album Elektrac into a big stage spectacle. With full backing band and mesmerising light show to accompany him, a show this big at such an intimate festival will be truly special.

Tony Allen is legendary in a whole different way. The Nigerian musician has been called the greatest drummer of all time by Brian Eno and was essential to the creation of Afrobeat. His headline slot will see him, former bandmate Dele Sosimi and his full Afrobeat Orchestra give a jazz-infused tribute set to bebop drummer Art Barkley.

This is the Kit, Melt Yourself Down and BC Camplight will all be making an appearance as well, whilst the likes of Greg Wilson, Shapes and Max Graef will be gracing the festival’s DJ booths as the sun goes down.

Keep your eyes peeled, as the organisers say that the full line up will be revealed in the coming months.
